MetaTrader Optimization

Introduction

In this guide we will show you how to optimize your MetaTrader on Windows Server so it will run smoother and faster. I recommend you to use MetaTrader 5. The advantage of version 5 is that this version is much more optimised than MetaTrader 4 from itself. Still we can perform some actions to make MetaTrader 5 a bit faster.

Optimization steps

Most of the traders are using Auto Trade, so we don’t need all the heavy graphics that MetaTrader shows us. We can lower the amount of bars by doing the following.

1. In the top bar click on: Tools > Options > Charts.
2. Uncheck all the checkboxes so it looks like the screenshot below.
3. Click OK.

We don’t need the MetaTrader news, so let’s disable it.

1. In the top bar click on: Tools > Options > Servers
2. Uncheck the 'Enable news' checkbox
3. Click OK.

Let’s hide all the charts so the CPU does not have to process all the graphs.

1. Click the minimize button at all the charts.

Hide all the currencies/symbols we do not use.

1. Right-click on the Symbols in the left upper corner.
2. Click on 'Hide All'.

After following the above steps our MetaTrader now looks like this:
